Mark Felber L.P.C., L.C.D.C., CP CET II, Licensed Professional Counselor Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, Human Connections Counseling Services
As a licensed professional counselor, Mark Felber works with individuals and couples as they struggle through life’s many challenges. He works with people who are codependent and are spending their lives so addicted to love that it affects every corner of their lives. He also helps individuals struggling with grief, personal losses, and life passages. As a licensed chemical dependency counselor, Mr. Felber is also trained to work with those who are struggling with an addiction.

As a clinical member of the American Counseling Association, and the American Society of Group Psychotherapy and Psychodrama, he brings to his role of psychotherapist, a toolbox of therapeutic techniques, a solid academic background and a genuine commitment to help his clients heal. His goal is to give them tools and skills they can use to live happier, more satisfying lives.

Mr. Felber draws on an educational background that includes a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Texas A & M and seven years of doctoral studies at the University of Texas at Dallas, where he explored a cultural history of intimate relations. He is both a licensed professional counselor and a licensed chemical dependency counselor.

But his commitment to his clients does not end with academic credentials. He has broadened his educational background through post-graduate studies and workshops in areas that he believes stand to benefit his clients the most. Rather than having simply one or two therapeutic models to use when working with clients, Mr. Felber has studied a variety of models that can be used to help clients understand their issues, develop new strategies and move further along the path to healing and growth.

Mr. Felber is trained to work with couples facing all types of situations, from those whose relationship has simply hit a rough spot and needs a little help to restore the intimacy of the past to those whose marriage is falling apart or seems beyond repair. Using Imago Therapy he helps couples recognize childhood wounds that affect their relationship, learn ways to really hear each other, and practice exercises that can revive a dying marriage and restore it into the vibrant, nurturing relationship it started out as. Couples also learn how to heal childhood wounds and reconnect with lost parts of themselves. Using solid skills, couples can create the relationship of their dreams and enjoy their life together.

More than merely a good listener or a sympathetic ear, Mr. Felber uses concrete tools and exercises that allow his clients to really make changes in their lives. As a therapist he is there all along the way to provide guidance, encouragement and support. But it is the client who is empowered to change how they see the world and go about the daily task of living. It is Mr. Felber’s goal to point his clients in the right direction, utilizing his natural empathy for others, while using therapeutic tools that light the way so that every individual can discover the person he or she was meant to be.
