Cindy L. Herb, The Joyful Survivor, is a first-hand survivor of pain who helps others achieve happiness by turning any adversity into joy through a simple, proven and fast process.
On July 31, 1966 at the tender age of nine, while throwing papers for a local newspaper, a stranger raped Cindy. Now, as a healed rape victim, Cindy passionately advocates a way to overcome obstacles and understand adverse events that may have occurred in people’s lives. She hopes to inspire others and show them that, despite adversity, there is always a way to overcome life’s tribulations along the path to finding true happiness and joy. Indirectly, this knowledge can assist them in working a more constructive path.
She is the author of the book, ‘Awakening the Spirit: The Open Wide Like a Floozy Chronicles,’ a result of her personal discoveries. Maria Shriver, First Lady of the State of California, award-winning American journalist and member of the Kennedy family, has endorsed Cindy’s book. Ms. Shriver writes of Cindy and her book, “I know you inspire others through your personal story of overcoming pain and suffering. Cindy L. Herb has enjoyed a long and successful career in the corporate environment, training associates to perform at their highest potential through development, motivation, and encouragement. Cindy’s expertise is supported by a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Southern Methodist University (SMU), Dallas, TX. In addition, she has first-hand experience of healing from many life-changing events, including:
- a childhood rape at age 9;
- the inappropriate sexual contact from her alcoholic father;
- being stalked and pursued by sexual predators;
- growing up in a dysfunctional family;
- a near-death experience;
- being mugged at gunpoint;
- surviving melanoma, the most serious form of skin cancer;
- suffering a complete nervous breakdown; and
- living with many debilitating illnesses.
